Susie’s Nail Art
Floral Design Hand Painted Custom Nail Art – Susie Edwards
Susie’s always loved Shellac Hot Chillis, and being a florist, began having hand painted flower nail art on accent nails. Over the years these have progressed to ladybirds, robins, toadstools and even a painting of her little dog Nutty. One Stroke poppies, pansies, seasonal designs with holly, ivy, Halloween designs and her favourite classic Dior Half Moons which she used to practice in the sixties, also being a model for the Dior School.
With reinforcement over her natural nails and regular IBX treatments Susie’s nails have remained strong and healthy and her nail art is a talking point wherever she goes!
Susie was off on a holiday and wanted a reminder of her little dog Nutty. I painted a few samples first before attempting it on her nails. Remembrance Day was also coming up so I did a One Stroke poppy on her right hand accent fingernail.
St Patrick’s Day Nail Art
St Patrick’s Day – Topical Nail Art!
March 17th is St Patrick’s day (and is also my parents’ wedding anniversay – double celebration!) and every year the Irish, or Irish at heart celebrate the day. It began as a religious feast day for the patron saint or Ireland and is now an international festival celebrating Irish culture. Across the globe there are parades, dancing, drinking and lots of green! I have seen St Patrick’s Day celebrated in the UK, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, India and Australia and almost always Guinness is involved!
Last year, my client was off to Dublin and was after Shamrocks for her nails so I did a couple of swatches and couldn’t resist doing a Guinness one.
This year another client is off to Dublin for St Patrick’s Day so she opted for the emerald green glitter nails with the Guinness harps on her ring fingers. This design is a combination of glitter and hand painting. I’m hoping Fran sends some pics of the nails on location with a Guinness in hand!
According to Wikipedia ‘On St Patrick’s Day it is customary to wear shamrocks and/or green clothing or accessories (the “wearing of the green”). St Patrick is said to have used the shamrock, a three-leaved plant, to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagan Irish. The colour green has been associated with Ireland since at least the 1640s, when the green harp flag was used by the Irish Catholic Confederation.’
Seven things you didn’t know about the saint, the parades, and Guinness
Happy St Patrick’s Day!
Neon and Sorbet Pigments for Summer!
I love these Neon and Sorbet Pigments, they’re so versatile, they lend themselves to so many designs! The Neons are super bright and fluorescent and the Sorbets are a little more subtle with a sheen to them. They are used like additives so can be used for Ombré effects and fades.
On their own or teamed with stamping and a bit of glitter they are amazing. Highly recommended if you like your brights bright – definitely a good choice for the summer months! So vivid and eyecatching, perfect for holidays at home or abroad, or just to brighten up your day.
Sixteen colours, 8 Neons and 8 Sorbets on colour pops. The camera does not do them justice. These are so bright and fluorescent.
These toes were destined for a wedding in Greece. Rainbow pigments blended across all 10 toes with stamped detail over the top. Perfect for Hot climates, these colours really glow in the sunshine and are perfect for summer toes.
Hot Pink Pigment with black DRK Enlaced stamping in a random fashion over the top. Embellished with a swish of Gelish Waterfield for an added sparkle, they really catch the eye.

The Sun is Shining!
I hope everyone had a lovely Easter and is still enjoying the warm weather. The clocks have gone forward, days are getting longer and Spring is here. Summer is just around the corner so it’s time to start thinking of your summer maintenance! Toes are soon to be in sandals, fingers will be on parade and it’s time to sort those unruly eyebrows and glam up the eyelashes.
Everyone seems to smile more when the sun is shining and it brings out everyone’s desire to start looking towards summer holidays and getting skin, hair and nails ready for warmer days and nights. Fran was really feeling Spring has sprung so asked for yellow springlike nails this time. After looking through swatches and deciding on combinations, we decided to do daisies on a Limeade base with some blue additives. It was great fun to do them after doing a load of stamping. My stamping is improving though after the masterclass from Alex last week. She really showed me some great techniques and tips.
Uber Chic Plates are Coming!

I’m looking forward to Thursday when I will start at 4 day one to one girly nailart weekend with Alexandra Woodward. Watch this space to see what we come up with. I predict lots of glitter! We will be doing One Stroke Nail Art, Gel Polish Designs, Stamping, Decals, Foil Effects, Inlaid Gems, and maybe a little Zhostovo if we have time.
I have ordered some new cashmere ellipse lashes and cant wait to try them. These are super light but give a denser more fluffy glamorous look. Also in stock are superfine 0.07 and 0.10 lashes for a natural looking eyelash extensions, or these can be applied in multiples to each lash for a volume effect.
I’m getting lots of tips from continuing my training with the World Association of Lash Artistry and Development, so many techniques and styles! Come and try a Taster Set.
I’m just about to do my own nails, I’ve been a bit overzealous with spring cleaning and weeding and have a casualty so it’s time for a revamp.
