I’ve just gone to download the images from my phone and the Micro SD card has died. Valuable lesson learned… back up daily! I’ve now lost all my images from September. So… still catching up here are May’s nails. Soon be up to date!

November Dark Nights
November Nail Designs. Shades are getting darker ready for the cold dark nights but the bling is starting to appear more and more.
September Nails
Some of my September finger nail and toenail designs. Still catching up! What else to do on a rainy Dorset Sunday afternoon?
A Short May
Back to Work – a short month of May
I returned to work May 13th and suddenly summer was here! It’s always a squeeze after a holiday – everyone is reading for their infils, both nails and lashes, brow top ups and suddenly everyone wants to bare all as the sun shows it’s face!
Just a few pics of some of May’s work.
Reverse french acrylic infil using Sparkle Cover Pink, Snow white and 3d lace effect embellishment.
Reverse French glitter mani with one stroke flowers. My holiday nails had seen better days, they lasted so well on holiday but on returning, unpacking, loading suitcases into the attic etc, it was time for a fresh set. I couldn’t decide what I wanted so this was the result of my playing, and a glass or 2 or wine!
Reinforced Gel Polish nails with individual rhomboid glitter on ring fingers and pink chunky glitter on remaining fingers and thumbs. This really sparkles!
Turqouise Cat Eye Effect with gold tear drop diamanté detailing on ring fingers
Elegant French with One Stroke flowers and diamanté detailing
Illumina Gel from Germany. This is a lovely gel, there are 7 colors in the range and they change colour depending on how the light hits them. They’re like exotic beetle jackets! Here I have used number 1 with a sliver of silver thread to accent the sides of the nails
Colours starting to go light for summer. Pastel gels with co-ordinating pastel glitters over.
Matte Gelish Night Reflection with dew drops over the top. A popular design
French with hand panted little roses and colourd diamanté details. Client’s pictures, I forgot to take a pic. I love the way she’s used the buttefly backgoround!
Flying Visit, more Onestroke and a New Table!
Frantic February!
In between nails, brows and lashes I’ve been housesitting again as well as practicing more OneStroke designs and having new furniture built for my studio. I’ve been looking after some beautiful Labradors and a lovely cat, and with the help of my colleague, have been able to run back and forth between appointments!
Spring seems to be on it’s way and lots of nails and even a few toes have been gelled this month! Glitter is still being requested, I suppose as an antidote to the awful weather! Lash Lift is again proving very popular and the Cashmere Eyelash Extensions are so soft and light, clients don’t know they’re wearing them!
Having made prototype nail desks a few year ago, my husband has been busy again – I now have a custom made L shaped nail desk covered in glass with chrome legs. Pics to come once it’s finally finished. He’s working on conduits for wires and cables to keep me tidy and stop my chair rolling over them and pulling my gel lamps off. Another coat of paint and I’m good to go! My studio is looking sleek – as sleek as it can get in a rural 17th century thatched cottage! New windows and doors are also in the pipeline. This will all give me more room for Nail Classes… still in progress!
I’ve just received some BrillBird Designer Gel and have been having a play with that, no images yet but I can’t wait to use it. It’s lovely and really finishes off some of my designs. There are so many fabulous products out there to embellish nails, we’re really spoiled for choice! I can’t make it to Pro Beauty next weekend so I will have to have a play online and order some treats! I have my eye on a few new ideas…
Onestroke Sample Sheet
I printed blank black nail shapes onto a plain piece of paper then matte laminated it to have a working surface similar to buffed nails. I still haven’t got round to doing them on tips yet though a few clients have had some onestroke this month. As a bonus, it’s a handy way for clients to be able to choose what’s available.
February Blues
The weather is appalling, thick white frost at 7am this morning which had disappeared by 8 then it’s hammered down all day! Seems to be a lot of blue nails at the moment, no one feels like Spring is anywhere near.
My new Nail Art books have arrived, I need to take a pic, loads to do in them. They’re in German which is a bit of a challenge but I have a handy translator in the house. I’ve been invited on another advanced nail course which looks really good. I’m upset not to be able to attend the Pisut Masanoung classes in May (first time ever in the UK), unfortunately I’m busy but they will be great. These have been organised by Karla Giles and Kirsty Meakin. See https://www.facebook.com/pisut.masanoung?fref=ts for details of his work. This guy is brilliant and it is a real honour to have been invited onto the courses. His attention to detail is second to none and I am hoping he will come back to the UK and do another class very soon. His work is absolutely out of this world, if I can learn even a fraction I would be so happy! Fingers crossed for another course. Karla and Kirsty are on the ball and organising future events.
I’m off to bed now, off to Pro Beauty in London tomorrow to have a look at what’s out there and get some new gels, lashes and generally swot up on what’s new in the industry! Got my comfy boots ready as it’s going to be a long day.
