Susie’s Nail Art
Floral Design Hand Painted Custom Nail Art – Susie Edwards
Susie’s always loved Shellac Hot Chillis, and being a florist, began having hand painted flower nail art on accent nails. Over the years these have progressed to ladybirds, robins, toadstools and even a painting of her little dog Nutty. One Stroke poppies, pansies, seasonal designs with holly, ivy, Halloween designs and her favourite classic Dior Half Moons which she used to practice in the sixties, also being a model for the Dior School.
With reinforcement over her natural nails and regular IBX treatments Susie’s nails have remained strong and healthy and her nail art is a talking point wherever she goes!
Susie was off on a holiday and wanted a reminder of her little dog Nutty. I painted a few samples first before attempting it on her nails. Remembrance Day was also coming up so I did a One Stroke poppy on her right hand accent fingernail.
Christmas Designs – Nail Art for the Festive Season
It’s that time of year again… the glitter has made a massive appearance, although it never really goes away, December is the time when I eat sleep and dream of it! I bought a selection of Christmas themed stamping plates but so far have not used them apart from a few snowflakes on myself – everyone has wanted handpainted Christmas Designs.
I’ve put together a quick selection of new Christmas designs, I’ve also swatched more foils and glitter combinations, my swatch collection is growing! Lot’s of Bling to play with 🙂 Pictures do not do these justice, so come along and see them in the flesh! A little 3d work has been introduced this year to add some variation and more acrylic shapes will be coming soon. I learned a lot on my course so I’m quietly playing with my new techniques and getting ready for 2016.
Onestroke Poppies – very popular!
After finishing the cake, it was a pleasure to paint small again. Poppies are always popular and I painted 3 sets in one week. I painted these using Elit Master Paints from Liliya Nigmutallina. These are really dense paints and are specially created for Onestroke and Zhostovo work. The clients asked for Onestroke Poppies on accent fingers only.
Fran was off for a family Photoshoot to the Battlefields of Ypres and decided to have early poppies painted. Base coat of Shellac Wildfire and Blackpool with Additives on the middle and pinky finger. Gel over natural nails.
The final poppies for the week. Onestroke Poppies painted on Ann’s Ring and Middle finger. Gel polish over natural nails. I really enjoyed doing these nails! I’ve painted a lot of plain nails this month – it’s always a pleasure to get creative!
I’m hoping to have more time in November to practice new designs and techniques, I have a couple of online courses in the pipeline and I’m toying with the idea of airbrushing. A friend is on the case with a compressor winging it’s way to me. I may be proficient in time for the festive season!
Remembrance Sunday is only 4 weeks away – I wonder if I’m asked to do any more Poppies!
Nail Art, Glitter and Stamping
Nail Art, Glitter and Stamping. Nails that I haven’t posted on the blog yet. I’m still deciding what pictures to include in the site’s Gallery. Meanwhile, the blog is as good a place as any to post. Clients are feeling Autumn coming on, colours are getting darker, though glitter is still very popular. Click on the pics to enlarge.
Was that Summer? Time to show the Summer Toes while it lasts!
We’ve had a few lovely days, punctuated with black clouds and rain in Dorset. It’s a time to get those summer toes on show and glitter has been really popular. The sun really makes them gleam!
Fingers crossed we get a few more hot and bright days over the next few weeks. Foils can really catch the light, with many designs on offer. Simpe plain metallic foils to full patterned holographic prints. Handpainted nail art or stamping can further embellish the toes. Neon Pigments are perfect for the toes, bright and fun with limitless variations. From a simple colour polish to full on Nail Art, I can create something for you.

Toenails can last weeks as toenails don’t grow as quickly as fingernails. Some go as long as 8 weeks before a fresh set. Ideal for holidays as they are chip and maintenance free.
Gelish matching fingers and toes using Good Gossip. Very sparkly in the sunlight. This lady’s right big toe had been kicked and the corner was missing so I built it up to match the other toe.
Base of Gelish Good Gossip then Superglitter applied for an iridescent look.
With an extensive range of colours and effects to choose from, you can be certain of a set of toenails created to your satisfaction!

Summer is just around the corner so it’s time to start thinking of your summer maintenance! Toes are soon to be in sandals, fingers will be on parade and it’s time to sort those unruly eyebrows and glam up the eyelashes.

Fran was really feeling Spring has sprung so asked for yellow springlike nails this time. After looking through swatches and deciding on combinations, we decided to do daisies on a Limeade base with some blue additives. It was great fun to do them after doing a load of stamping. My stamping is improving though after the masterclass from Alex last week. She really showed me some great techniques and tips.
Uber Chic Plates are Coming!
Uber Chic has this to say about them:
Mybrows – Highly Defined Eyebrows
A Little Stamping
Short nails after IBX treatment with Shellac and stamped with Azure polish over ring and adjacent fingers. Very subtle but catches the light beautifully.
Acrylic nail extensions with Gelish Starburst and tiny flower stamping details. Perfect for Spring
Tiffany, Foils and Bling
Gorgeous colour for holiday nails. These are gel nails with Tiffany style blue and holographic foils on the tips with pearls and diamanté accents for a bit of bling. It’s so hard to reproduce this colour on camera, it’s really beautiful.
These are Shellac Toes with turquoise, lime and aqua foils overlaid then top coated for long lasting chip free holiday toes. These are currently sparkling by the pool in The Gambia.
2015 is up and running!
I’m getting back on track now jet lag is gone! Luckily there’s been a lot of stamping since my holiday as I came back with jet lag and a cold and I just haven’t been able to get warm. Dorset in January is very different from India…
The main website is coming along now, I still have writer’s block wondering what to put on each page. I’ve done it all before and it’s hard starting it over again without using the same phrases. I’m petsitting with my Pawsindoors head on at the moment and taking the dogs home to do nail and lash appointments.
I bought a pack of sharpies to have a play with, there are some interesting effects with these. There are a lot of lovely images on Facebook, they give a beautiful marble effect. NOT to be used on eyebrows! I’ve had a play but I’m away from my kit so cant wait to get back properly on Friday!
These are just some of the Nails and Lashes done so far. Stamping has been really popular as a quick and simple way of producing stunning effects. Big thanks to Alexandra Woodward for all of her guidance.
